چکیده
An association between the occurrence of club foot and early amniocentesis has been reported. The largest of these randomised studies was the Canadian Early and Mid-Trimester Amniocentesis Trial. Data describing the neonatal outcome, focusing on this association, are presented. Possible mechanisms for the association and the implications for the development of club foot are discussed.

I-44: Increased Nuchal Translucency at 11-14 Weeks of Gestation As A Marker for Adverse Pregnancy Outcomes
Background: To evaluate the association of increased fetal nuchal translucency( NT) and adverse pregnancy outcomes. Materials and Methods: In a prospective study, 2221 women who were conceived after Assisted Conception were investigated by sonography independent of multiplicity between 11 and 13 weeks' gestation. We performed 2899 NT examinations during the study period(21 March 2010 to 21...
متن کاملAmniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling for prenatal diagnosis.
BACKGROUND A major disadvantage of second trimester amniocentesis is that the result is usually available only after 18 weeks' gestation. Chorionic villus sampling (CVS) and early amniocentesis can be done between 9 and 14 weeks and offer an earlier alternative. OBJECTIVES The objective was to assess comparative safety and accuracy of second trimester amniocentesis, early amniocentesis, trans...

OBJECTIVE To assess the rate of fetal losses in twin pregnancies undergoing genetic mid-trimester amniocentesis. METHODS In the first part of this investigation, a retrospective cohort study compared a group of women . 32 years old with twin pregnancies who underwent amniocentesis with a similar group unexposed to amniocentesis. Data were compiled from January 1990 to March 2004 for patients ...

BACKGROUND Second trimester amniocentesis has been associated with an excess of perinatal lung function abnormalities. Early amniocentesis might have a similar adverse effect, as could other invasive investigations carried out in the first trimester. METHODS Plethysmographic measurements of thoracic gas volume (TGV) and airway resistance (Raw), from which specific conductance (sGaw) was calcu...
متن کاملFetal loss following second trimester amniocentesis. Who is at greater risk? How to counsel pregnant women?
OBJECTIVE The purpose of this retrospective observational cohort study was to determine the impact of certain risk factors on fetal loss, after mid-trimester amniocentesis. MATERIAL AND METHODS Six thousand seven-hundred and fifty-two (6752) consecutive amniocenteses with known pregnancy outcome performed during a 7-year period (2004-2010) were included in this study. Different maternal-, fet...
